Shrimps’ boss Derek Adams was full of praise for his players after they picked up a valuable point at Forest Green with another last gasp leveller.
After scoring twice in injury time to beat Salford a fortnight ago the Shrimps showed their spirit again with a 94th minute equaliser from Carlos Mendes Gomes to earn a deserved point against a side who started the day one place above them in the table and were heading for top spot.
Adams said: “We deserved to win the game. It was a really good performance from us.
“We had 14 attempts on goal to Forest Green’s seven. We outpassed them, we outpressed them and I think Forest Green knew they were in a game.
“I thought our players were fantastic. I thought we defended well, we attacked really well, but we obviously failed to take the opportunities we created.
“We scored a good goal at the start with Cole Stockton - a great turn and finish - and then towards the end, another team trying to time waste fell foul and Carlos got a great header into the goal.
“We had a lot of really good performances. We were excellent in midfield, our front three were tremendous and the back four got forward and defended well.
“It was a difficult game for both sides but I thought it was a good advert for League Two football.”
