After signing for the Shrimps in August last year, right-back Kelvin Mellor says he is enjoying his time with the club.
The 30-year-old worked under Derek Adams during his spell at Plymouth Argyle, so the manager's high standards came as no surprise.
Mellor said: “I’ve really enjoyed this season to be fair, especially when we’ve done quite well.
“I’ve worked with the gaffer before, so I know what he’s about and I think his standards are really good.
“His work ethic is second to none really and that’s shown with the team’s performance and how we’ve done this year.”
The Crewe-born defender, who has made 32 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign, admits that there is real confidence within the squad.
“If you’re winning games, the momentum, the belief, the confidence is sky high, and it just shows on the pitch,” he said.
“I don’t think there’s been many teams where we’ve actually thought these are miles better than us, we’re not going to get anything today.
“We work very hard, we’re probably one of the hardest working teams in the league.
“Every game just seems like we’ve got a good chance.”
The former Blackpool man also believes that the strength in depth at the manager’s disposal is a real source of confidence for the squad as the run-in draws ever closer.
Mellor said: “It’s definitely shown with different changes in the team.
“Training is competitive, and everyone is just working so hard even behind the scenes, it’s running through the club.
“It’s a group effort, it’s not just the XI that play on a Saturday, it’s the whole group and it definitely helps.”
