Diagouraga praises Shrimps’ recent form and performances

25 November 2021

Morecambe look to continue their run of good performances on Saturday when MK Dons are the visitors to the Mazuma Stadium in Sky Bet League One.

The Shrimps head into Saturday’s game on the back of a derby day win at Fleetwood and, most recently, a draw with in-form Charlton Athletic, coming back from 2-0 down in the process.

After a difficult spell in October, Diagouraga says it’s important to be picking up results and getting points on the board.

“To get four points from the last two games is very good,” he said.

“We’ve got a squad in the changing room that just don’t want to give up, so whether we’re winning or losing the game, we always give 100%.

“We started really well at the start of the season, then we had a bad patch, and now we’re playing well again, I think it’s just a case of putting runs together.

“If we can keep picking up points all the way up to Christmas, that’ll put us in good stead.”

Looking ahead to the visit of the Buckinghamshire side, Diagouraga reiterates that, despite being another tough test, the Shrimps will be ready, regardless of which starting XI is fielded.

He added: “It’s football, nobody has a divine right to play, we’ve got a talented squad, so whenever I’m needed, I’ll do my best for the team, and when I’m not playing, I want the team to do their best and get points.

“We’ve got very talented midfielders, at the end of the day, it’s about Morecambe Football Club and as long as we get results, it doesn’t matter who’s on the pitch.

“I think they [MK Dons] are a very good footballing side, so it’s going to be a tough game, but we’ve had loads of tough games this season, and we don’t fear anyone, so bring them on.”
