Midfielder Shane McLoughlin has no doubt that the Shrimps can match Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night.
Both teams come into this game off the back of wins at the weekend, with the Addicks recording a 2-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle, and McLoughlin says the side have nothing to fear.
He said: “They are a big club, that have some very good players in their squad as well - it was always going to happen at some stage that they were going to turn the corner but after the win we had at the weekend, it should be a good game.
“Hopefully that ‘new manager’ bounce is over now, they have had four wins recently and they have come down from that now.
“As I’ve said, they are a big club, the individuals that they have there certainly say they are a big club, but I believe in what we are about and we can go toe-to-toe with them.
Mood in the camp has been lifted after Saturday’s 2-1 win over Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One and McLoughlin says getting three points lifted a weight off the side’s shoulders.
He added: “It has been a while since we have had a win in the league so it was much needed, you could see the relief on everyone’s face after Cole [Stockton] scored that goal.
“We have managed to have a look back over the stats from the game at the weekend, the amount of shots that we had, we probably had less possession but that was probably down to the way we set up.
“A result like that was needed, we hopefully will kick-on from that now as we have a lot of difficult games to come between now and Christmas.”
