Cole Stockton’s equaliser against Oxford United seals the striker’s third Goal of the Month win in a row.

The 64th minute strike at the Kassam Stadium received more than 76% of the vote and beat Jonah Ayunga’s late equaliser against Wycombe Wanderers, Shane McLoughlin’s audacious chip away at Hartlepool United and Liam Gibson’s opener against Burton Albion.

The 27-year-old latched onto a pinpoint cross into the mix by Ryan Cooney, firing the ball home from close range, leaving Simon Eastwood with no chance in the United goal.

Speaking about the award, Stockton said: “I’m delighted to receive Goal of the Month again and I’m thankful for the votes.

“It was a perfect ball in from Ryan [Cooney] and as a striker, I’ll always believe in myself to find the back of the net, and I’ve shown that so far this season.

“It was disappointing that we left empty handed on the day, but we’ve worked hard and have enjoyed a couple of positive results in the league recently, and hopefully that will continue with the games coming thick and fast.”
