Cole Stockton has been awarded with the Club’s Goal of the Month award for September.
The award, sponsored by Morecambe Eats, is a fan vote and Stockton’s stunning strike against AFC Wimbledon at the Mazuma Stadium racked up an impressive 89% of the voting.
Beating his own strike against Lincoln City, Shane McLoughlin’s diving header in that same Wimbledon game and Arthur Gnaouha’s blistering finish against Crewe Alexandra.
Stockton said: “It is nice be to recognised again for the Club’s Goal of the Month, it was always going to be hard to top my strike at Ipswich but I think this one just beats it.
“There were some terrific goals in the month, you can see the quality I was up against with some great finishes from Arthur [Gnahoua] and Shane [McLoughlin], any other month their goals would probably have won it.
“I am really enjoying my football at the minute, we have managed to get some really positive results and we are determined to become more consistent as the season goes on."
