Shrimps striker Cole Stockton is the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month winner for September, receiving 53% of the public vote.
Decisions come easy when you are in the form of your career. Stockton took one glance at the Wimbledon goal before producing a 40-yard lob as breath-taking as it was audacious.
Stockton said: “A few people have tried to wind me up and see ‘great cross’ and stuff like that but their goalkeeper had been off his line all game.
“If you look at the video of the goal, I have a little look up to try and see where he was and I just saw glimpse of the keeper’s jersey on the edge of the box.
“That goal was the game after being presented with the Player of the Month award for August, so I knew that I had to back it up and thankfully I did.”
Stockton beat off competition from Fleetwood Town’s Danny Andrew and Portsmouth’s Ronan Curtis.
