Morecambe Football Club would like to thank everyone who were kind enough to donate items to our Ukraine appeal last month.
A large amount of good were boxed up by volunteers, who did a wonderful job over a course of a few days at the Mazuma Stadium.
Co-Chairman Rod Taylor said: “I would like to extend a massive thank you to all who donated the mountain of goods and to the small band of volunteers who sorted, boxed, transported, and ensured the goods began their journey to the Poland/Ukraine border.
“A big shout out to our partners in this effort; Spar Thornton Road for being a drop-off point for goods and storage, Water Sculptures and White Lund for the use of warehousing for temporary storage.
“Althams Butchers, Armadillo, and Whitewells for the supply of the much-needed boxes, Morecambe Care Ltd for supplying many hours of staff time, and Bay Search & Rescue for providing the transport to the area where these goods are so desperately needed."
