University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) provided Higher Education Career Advice presentation for Scholars

12 April 2022

The young Shrimps recently attended a careers advice talk which was delivered by university staff from the UCFB Etihad Stadium.

The session provided the Scholars with information on a range of university degree course options, which are all linked to the business of football, and are delivered at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester or at Wembley Stadium in London.

The degree course options discussed included football management, coaching, marketing, business finance, media & broadcasting, talent development, journalism, sports law and events management amongst others. They were also able to gain information on the statistics and value of business in football globally.

The session provided them with knowledge about alternative Higher Education pathways, which can keep them involved with the business of football, should a career in professional football not materialise.

“It is vital that Scholars are aware of a wide range of career alternatives should they not earn a contract in the highly competitive world of Professional Football,” says Gary Kelly, Head of Education at Morecambe FC.

“UCFB degrees have a specific focus on the business of football which can stimulate the Scholars’ interest and keep them involved in the game.

“The Scholars are now aware of these progression routes and how their educational achievement plays an important part in enabling access to these Higher Education provisions.”
