Bedeau has sights set on another glamour cup tie

23 August 2022

Defender Jacob Bedeau wants to face one of England’s biggest sides, after the Shrimps progressed to Round Three of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.

Bedeau made his debut for the Shrimps in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round clash against Tottenham Hotspur in January 2022, and he has his sights set on another glamour tie.

“It is brilliant for the Club, I think the past few seasons we have had a couple of decent draws, so hopefully we can have the same again,” said Bedeau.

“Looking back at Spurs last season which was an unreal experience for everyone, and hopefully we can beat one of those big boys.

“We have been playing well this season already, it is great to win inside 90 minutes and we are going that we can carry that into the league on Saturday against MK Dons.”

The side kept a clean sheet against Sky Bet Championship opposition once again in the Carabao Cup, and the 22-year-old says he never felt like the Shrimps were going to concede on the night.

“It was really good result, we dug in when we needed to and Arthur [Gnahoua] scored a really good goal late on in the second-half,” he added.

“We didn’t look like we were going to concede at any point during the night, which is pleasing, I think the team shape was excellent.

“The players have gelled together quite quickly, defensively, everyone knows their roles and I feel comfortable within the back three as we all communicate with each other.”
