Fané looking to take positives into Ipswich clash

25 February 2022

Midfielder Ousmane Fané says the positives from Tuesday night are there to take into Saturday's clash against Ipswich Town.

The Shrimps registered seven shots on target, but a spirited Josh Vickers' performance in the Millers' goal kept Morecambe at bay.

With the Tractor Boys making the trip north to the Mazuma Stadium on Saturday, midfielder Fane, whose debut in the starting XI came at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, says it's important to focus on the positives.

“[There are] so many positives to take on for Saturday,” he said.

“You create so many chances, we couldn’t score, but everything is positive, we’re going to get something on Saturday hopefully with the new manager.

“You have to take each game by game, like a final, give everything, and hopefully hit the target to stay in the league, I know we can do it.

“I haven’t played against them [Ipswich], but we can expect a tough game, like every game.

"We will be there to show them we’re here, this is our home, we don’t want to lose at home, we want to win of course.”

Fané signed for the Club in January following a spell with Malaysian team UiTM FC, and the 28-year-old admits he's beneffiting from a fresh start.

“It’s good to be back in England, I feel good," he added.

"I’m finding my way now, on Tuesday my first start, it was a good start for me, a fresh start.

“I hope I can keep coming on to help the team and we can pick up some good points and stay in the league, I feel good, I want to add something to the team.

“Every game is big, especially now in our situation, we are in the bottom four so no matter who we play, we go with a positive mind, with a new manager.

"We just have to keep going, especially in front of the fans, and hopefully get the win."
