Toumani Diagouraga’s goal against Doncaster wins January’s Goal of the Month
The midfielder secured three points for the Shrimps in first game of the New Year.
In the 85th minute, as McLaughlin’s corner was cleared, Toums was ready and waiting on the edge of the box.
There was no messing around, as he rifled the ball past defenders and keeper Louis Jones.
With 56% of the vote, the midfielder says he’s buzzing to receive the accolade.
“After a long career, that’s one thing I’ve never won, and never thought I would win,” says Diagouraga.
“It was more of a reactive one [goal] where the ball just dropped on the edge, and it was just a case of trying to hit the target and thankfully it went in.
“That feeling was amazing, to come back to 3-3 then to win it, it was unbelievable.
"I had my little boy in the crowd as well that day, so that was a very good feeling, a very good day.”
