Derek Adams says the Shrimps are looking forward to the start of the season against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
Saturday will mark the start of Morecambe’s second succussive season in Sky Bet League One after securing survival on the 2021/22 final day.
Ahead of the Shrews visit, Adams and his squad are excited to play in front of a packed out, atmospheric Mazuma Stadium once again.
“We’re really looking forward to it,” he said.
“We’d all love to get off to a good start, we’ve got a tough match on Saturday to start with and we’re here to win three points.
“We’ve got Shrewsbury at home, we know that they can be tough opposition and we'll go into it looking to have a capacity crowd and a very good atmosphere.
“It’s 46 games and you play everyone twice, how you finish the season, how you start the season and what you do in the middle are all very important, it’s throughout the season that points are accumulated."
Adams has made eight additions to his squad so far this summer, and the boss says he's pleased with the quality his new players possess.
He added: “Caleb Watts and Jensen both came in from Southampton and Brighton.
"We get players these clubs have got high hopes for and they want to come here so we can develop them.
“We’re delighted to have them and they’ve all settled in well, we’ve taken in eight players over the summer and we’ve added to the squad well.
