Gnahoua pleased to be back in starting XI

19 March 2022

Arthur Gnahoua was delighted to be back in the starting XI and says he will continue to work hard for the team.

The forward started his first game in over a month in Saturday’s Sky Bet League One fixture at Wigan Athletic, and the 29-year-old is determined to stay in the team.

“You always want to play and I was really pleased to get back in the team, I hope that I can stay in the team, get more minutes and I will keep my head up,” he said.

“I will work hard for the team, it has been difficult for myself but for the team as well, we know we have to do better in games, we have to better than we did here.

“He [Cole Stockton] has done a lot, he has done a lot for the team as a whole, we just need to support him and help him get more goals between now and the end of the season.”

Gnahoua is determined to see the Shrimps get out of the relegation zone and says there is plenty of fight left in the side.

“We just have to keep going, we need to get the points that will see us climb out of the relegation zone, I think we were quite unlucky to concede a couple of goals like we did,” he adds.

“Coming away from home we knew it was going to be a difficult task for us, we have to keep focussed and we will get the points that we need.

“We will keep going, we need to work better defensively but we will fighting and hopefully next time we can get a better result.”
