In January 2021, Morecambe FC launched a Fan Engagement and Match Day Experience survey, to help build the foundation for positive supporter suggested changes to improve the overall match day experience at the Mazuma Stadium.
With over 450 responses, we were able to compile the suggestions and ideas to form a fan focus group. In the working group, we discussed the findings and came up with some solutions that the Club then began to implement.
From the feedback on the 2021/22 survey, we have increased the offer we have on the food and drink outlets located around the ground on a match day, now offering some match-by-match specials and meal deals. Where we can, we include as much information as possible within the ticket details release for both home and away matches, including parking information, whilst offering a collection option from the MFC Club Shop, or the home club ticket office and postage. We also now offer the opportunity to select your seat for away fixtures, and the online shop has been revamped.
On all Saturday home matches we have pre-match entertainment on the forecourt from a variety of different people from the local community. We have Beyond Radio, local musicians and singers, and the return of the Shrimpettes, who preform outside the stadium and on the pitch during the build up to kick off.
Our supporters also asked for more ‘fan days’. We have had two open training sessions at the Mazuma Stadium so far this season. The turnout for both has been incredible, with lots of you meeting your favourite players for photos and autographs, with plenty more supporter events to come.
For us to continue building and improving on what we offer across all parts of the Club, it is important to consistently ask how we can get better again – so the 2022/23 supporter survey is now here and ready to be completed!
