Shrimps midfielder Liam Shaw said Morecambe deserved to take all three points from their game against Portsmouth on Saturday.
Shaw put in a man of the match performance for Morecambe on Saturday which included scoring the goal which put the Shrimps ahead after 36 minutes.
The Celtic loanee said he was proud of the Shrimps' performance, but felt his side should’ve won.
““I’m delighted,” he said
“It’s always nice to pick up something individually as well.
“Disappointed we didn’t get the three points for the team and the fans, I thought we massively deserved it.
“Overall, I’m happy with the team performance and proud of everybody.”
The 21-year-old also spoke about his working relationship with fellow youngster Adam Mayor.
The pair linked up for the Shrimps goal when Mayor pulled the ball back across the box for Shaw to side foot into the net.
Shaw said the two of them have a good understanding of how they play on the pitch.
“Adam has done really well in training,” he said.
“You’ve seen today, he’s a good player and has got good quality.
“I was screaming at him to put it back into the box and he did so I just slotted it in.
“We’ve got a good understanding of each other, he’s really good technically so we’ve got a partnership where we trust each other on the ball and know where to play it, he’s a good player to play with.”
