Morecambe FC’s U17s have reached the semi-finals of the Clarets Cup.
The young Shrimps clinched an incredible 7-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.
A brace from U16 player Adam Fairclough was added to with goals from Matthew Williams, Lewis Ballantyne, Callum Cooney, Jack McKean & Saul Fox Akande in a momentous victory for the young Morecambe side.
The U17s now eagerly await the draw for the semi-finals.
On such a memorable victory, PDP Lead Ollie Ras said: “It was a fantastic display from this young group. They are learning and developing with each session and game, and it was one of those days where everything came together.
“We want Morecambe FC to be seen as a really good place for developing young talent and progression like this certainly helps.
"It gives us something to look forward to in a semi-final, but it also gives these young players encouragement, belief and determination in their next steps."
