Adams: Home Form Is Crucial

10 February 2023

With 18 games left of the season, manager Derek Adams admits home form will be crucial for his side.

The Shrimps remain unbeaten at home in nine games and have scored 12 in their last three Mazuma Stadium fixtures.

With nine left to play on home soil, Adams has emphasised the importance home form can have throughout the remainder of the campaign.

"Home form is going to be crucial between now and the end of the season," he said.

"We've also got to win away from home, there's no doubt about that, we have shown this season we can do that and pick up good results away from home and draws as well.

"They're all huge [games] at this stage of the season, with so little games to go until the end of the campaign, it's important we continue with the home form we have.

"We've played ever so well here, created a lot of opportunities, scored goals and we've been in confident move."

Just eight points separate the bottom eight sides in Sky Bet League One, from Fleetwood Town in 17th to Forest Green Rovers in 24th, and the competative nature comes as no surprise to the gaffer.

He added: "I said many months ago that would be the case, and it's always the case that teams above you think they're getting away from you and they're not.

"It's a long campaign, we've got 18 games to go and a lot of games that will have to's-and-fro's each way.

"We've got players who are now in form and we want to take that into this game and try to do the same on Saturday."
