Slew re-signs for The Shrimps

7 July 2023

Forward Jordan Slew has returned to the Mazuma Mobile Stadium for a second spell.

This will be the fourth time that Derek Adams has signed the 30-year-old striker after previously taking him to Ross County, Plymouth Argyle and Morecambe (during his first spell as manager).

Slew, who sits just short of 300 career appearances has played right across the English football pyramid, from the Premier League to the National League North- making him an experienced component in the Morecambe FC ranks for the coming season. In his career to date, Jordan has played clubs including- Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers, Stevenage, Oldham Athletic, Ross County, Rotherham United, Cambridge United and Plymouth Argyle.

Jordan spent the last two campaigns with FC Halifax Town in the National League, scoring 13 times over 65 appearances.

In his career to date, Slew has been promoted from League Two twice- once with Plymouth Argyle in 2016-17, and with Morecambe FC in 2020-21.

The forward re-joins on a one-year deal.

On bringing Jordan back to Morecambe, Derek Adams said, “Jordan is a player I know well, and he is a player that knows this league well more importantly. Having been part of two promotions from League Two previously, he has that knowledge and experience to call on and to share with the group.”

“We had taken Jordan in over the last week or so help him with his fitness and during that time he hasn’t missed a beat and we are happy to have him back in our group.”

Jordan added, “I am grateful to be back at Morecambe. It’s a great club, I enjoyed some good times here previously and want to make more memories this season.”

“I obviously know and have a good relationship with the Manager which helps, but equally, I feel I can contribute on the pitch and can’t wait to get underway.”
