Forward Cammy Smith has become the latest addition to Derek Adams squad.
27-year-old forward Cammy Smith joins following two years with SPFL Championship side Partick Thistle and signs for The Shrimps on a one-year deal.
Smith started his football journey in Aberdeen’s academy where he would breakthrough in to the first team in 2012 under former Scotland Manager Craig Brown. In the 2013-14 season Cammy was part of the Aberdeen side to win the League Cup that season after a penalty shootout win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle. In his time with The Dons, he would make 89 appearances in the Granite City.
During the 2016-17 season Cammy has two loan spells, firstly with Dundee United before joining St Mirren. At the end of the 16-17 season, he would join the Paisley side on a permanent basis. As St Mirren won the Scottish Championship in 2017-18 and clinched promotion back to the topflight of Scottish Football, Smith was named the clubs Player of the Year.
Smith would then return to Dundee United before spells with Dundalk, Ayr United and Indy Eleven in the USA. Most recently Smith was part of the Patrick Thistle side that narrowly missed out on promotion to the Scottish Premiership in the play-off at the end of last season.
On bringing Smith to Morecambe, Derek Adams said, “Cammy is somebody with good experience for his age. He has been part of promotions and success, and to have those credentials are important at any club.”

Cammy said on joining The Shrimps, “This is obviously something different for me. It’s my first taste of English Football but I am excited. It’s a good challenge for me at a good time.”
