Rawson: I Want To Do My Best To Help The Team

10 March 2023

As the business end of the season approaches, Farrend Rawson says he’ll do his best to help the Shrimps.

After arriving at the Mazuma Stadium last summer, Rawson has featured 36 times in all competitions for the Club to-date.

The 26-year-old has hit a rich vein of form, winning the sponsor’s Man of the Match award against Bolton Wanderers, and he admits he wants to keep pushing on to help the Club battle against the drop.

“I’m just trying to do the best I can do to help the team,” he said.

“Every week, every Saturday, every Tuesday, I go out there and to give the best of myself to try and help the team win because that’s all footballers want to do – I want to win games, it’s the best feeling in the world.

“It’s been a tough season, but I think we’ve surprised a lot of people and we’ve done well to be where we are now, it’s just about getting over the line.”

The Shrimps travel to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon who, at the time of writing, sit 9th in the Sky Bet League One table, nine points from the play-off places.

Following recent displays, the defender believes the team can take momentum into the fixture.

He continued: “They’re doing well in the league, they’re pretty safe and pushing upwards where we want to be.

“It’s just another game, we’re looking forward to it – I think we’ve got a bit of momentum now with five points in the last four games.

“We’re picking up some points away from home which has been a little bit tough on the road but we’re starting to changing that.

“It’s just a matter of time – hopefully Saturday can be a win away from home and we can kick on from there.”
