Nat Broad's goal was the difference between the Shrimps and Altrincham Women in the Alliance Design & Print Plate.
The only goal of the afternoon came on 34 minutes when Broad finished in a calm and collected fashion from close range.
It was a bright start for the home side with both Broad and Erin Menzies coming close in the opening few minutes, hitting the side netting and shooting just wide of goal respectively.
Just shy of the 10 minute mark, defensive duties from Ellie Townsend allowed Yasmine Carswell, at the other end, a shot on the counter attack which flew just over the bar. Moments later, Morecambe came close again as Menzies crossed to Hannah Paling, who was waiting at the far post, but Altrincham did well to keep the ball out.
With the reds continuing to apply presure, Paling hit the crossbar with an effort from 25-yards-out.
The visitor's first chance came after winning a free-kick which was whipped into the box and looked to be dangerous before Erin Lightfoot collected to deny them the opener.
Morecambe continued to dominate the game by applying pressure on the Altrincham defence. In the 18th minute, Carswell found Townsend with her free-kick, but the resulting header flew just over the bar.
The pressure paid off with just over 10 minutes of first half normal time to play. After picking up possession, Broad slotted home from close range.
A flurry of chances for the Shrimps came five minutes before half-time, with Menzies and Townsend forcing the opposition goalkeeper into action to keep Morecambe's lead in tact.
Just shy of the break, Broad came close to netting once again and broke through on goal, but the goalkeeper won the race to the ball first, only clearing as far as Menzies whose powerful shot went just wide of the target.

Morecambe started the second half as they had finished the first as Menzies carried the ball forward before crossing to Paling, but her shot sailed narrowly wide.
10 minutes later, Paling had the ball in the back of the net but it was ruled out for offside.
Opposite goalkeeper Francesca Warrington was again called into action on 66 minutes, this time denying Broad her and Morecambe's second of the afternoon.
Altrincham weren't without their attacking threats, as Lightfoot pulled off a fantastic save to deny the away side an equaliser as the second half looked to draw a close.
With three minutes of normal time to play, a visiting striker broke through one-on-one against Lightfoot, but the Shrimps' stopper came out on top once again with a vital block.
The last chance of proceedings fell the way of Altrincham who won a free kick just outside the box which was blocked by the red wall.
