Former loanee Ryan Cooney signed permanently at the Club in June 2021 after spending time on-loan with the Shrimps.
The full-back enjoyed two separate spells on loan from Premier League side Burnley, making 57 appearances in total, before joining the club on a full-time basis.
Progressing through the youth ranks at Bury, Cooney went on to make 29 appearances for the Shakers, captaining the side on several occasions.
The youngster’s success at Gigg Lane was recognised by the Clarets who signed Cooney in 2019 and was initially loaned out to Morecambe in January 2020.
Proving an integral role of the club’s successful 2020/21 promotion winning campaign, the Manchester-born man has quickly become a fans favourite.
Cooney represented the Club 38 times in 2021/22, providing two assists in the process.
