Midfielder Shane McLoughlin signed for the club on an initial one-year deal in July 2021.
Born in the Bronx, New York, in 1997, McLoughlin moved to Ireland as a youngster before joining Ipswich Town's youth setup in 2013.
As well as earning two caps for the Republic of Ireland U18s, McLoughlin made nine appearances for Bromley FC before signing for AFC Wimbledon.
The midfielder enjoyed two-and-a-half years at Plough Lane, making 81 appearances in all competitions and scoring three goals, providing four assists.
McLoughlin represented Morecambe 42 times in 2021/22, and as well as providing one assist, he netted once in the League against former side AFC Wimbledon and once more in the Papa John's Trophy fixture away at Hartlepool.
