As a youngster, Les played recreational football for local teams, and followed hometown club Morecambe FC. He helped to run the Supporters Club for many years and was witness to the Shirmps’ FA Trophy win at Wembley in 1974.
After his involvement and dedication to the club, Les was delighted to be appointed the new kit man in 1995, and as they say, the rest is history. One of his fondest memories over the past 27 years is being the last person, alongside Dickie Danson, to lock up the changing rooms at Christie Park.
