The experienced Irishman joined the club in June 2021 on a two-year-deal.

O’Connor came through the ranks at Lancashire side Blackburn Rovers between 2008 and 2011 before signing a professional contract with the club.  

Having enjoyed loan spells with Burton Albion, Torquay United and Plymouth Argyle, O’Connor left Ewood Park in 2015 and went on to make over 90 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Aberdeen as well as more than 130 appearances for Bradford City.

The no-nonsense centre-back also has international experience under his belt, having made a total of 20 appearances for the Republic of Ireland U17s, U19s and U21s, scoring two goals in the process.

In his debut season with the Club, he made 46 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals, most notably taking the lead against Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup, and providing four assists.
