Superb win for young Reserves

MORECAMBE Reserves produced a superb performance to beat an experienced Port Vale side this afternoon.
Two goals from teenager Declan Watson helped Stewart Drummond’s youngsters overcome a strong Valiants outfit.
Port Vale, who included former Shrimps’ winger Chris Shuker in their side, started the better and enjoyed the greater share of the possession in the opening 15 minutes.
But Joe McGee then gave the Shrimps the lead and they never looked back.
Watson scored twice with Joe Mwasile providing the assists and Robbie Threlfall scored a wonder goal to extend the Shrimps’ advantage against a shell shocked Port Vale.
Boss Drummond said: “It was a great performance from lads who deserve a great deal of credit.
“Port Vale had some very experienced players in their line up but we were on top for long periods of the game and played some great stuff.’’
Andy Fleming came through the game after his recent foot injury and Threlfall looked sharp after his three match suspension following his sending off at Southend.
