Summer sports programme at Globe Arena
Over 80 children from Sir John Barrow School in Ulverston visited Globe Arena recently to participate in the first Morecambe FC Olympic Legacy Sports Day.
The children enjoyed a range of sports using the training facilities at the home of Morecambe FC. Activities during the day included fitness circuits, football, basketball, multi-skills and tag rugby, with expert tuition from the Morecambe FC Community Sports coaching team.
There was also a chance to look behind the scenes on a Globe Area stadium tour – with VIP access to areas including first team changing rooms, executive boxes and the players’ tunnel.
Lunch was followed by an afternoon devoted to a mini sports day, with the traditional egg and spoon and sack races combined with discus, javelin and dodgeball to test the sporting prowess of the young athletes.
