Late Hughes strike earns point

A LAST-GASP goal from Mark Hughes earned Morecambe a battling point at old rivals Dagenham.
Hughes scored on 89 minutes after Padraig Amond had flicked on Barry Roche's long clearance to tee up the skipper who finished calmly past home keeper Chris Lewington.
Once again the Shrimps had to come from behind after going 1-0 down on 52 minutes when Dagenham were handed a controversial penalty.
A Luke Norris volley from just inside the area struck Chris McCready who was just a yard away from him and the referee awarded a disputed spot kick which Medy Elito placed beyond Barry Roche.
The Shrimps hit back with Jack Redshaw forcing Lewington into an excellent save and forcing Scott Doe to clear off the line before Hughes popped up to earn his side a draw and extend the unbeaten run to three games.
