Match Preview: Morecambe vs Walsall - 1st September, Kick-off 7:45, Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley says his side will be ready for the fight when one of the country's in-form sides visit the Globe Arena on Tuesday night.

The Shrimps face Walsall in the first round of the Johnstone's paint Trophy with the Saddlers travelling to the resort on the back of six successive victories, including a 4-0 thrashing of Blackpool on Saturday.

He said: "The game has not come at an ideal time because we are down to the bare bones squad wise but we will be doing all we can to get a result.

"We showed on Saturday that we have an amazing spirit in the squad and I'm sure the lads that are selected on Tuesday will show the same sort of determination and character again.

"Walsall are having a great run and they got to the final last year so they will be keen to repeat that this season and it won't be easy.

"But we have shown in the last few games that we can cause sides a lot of problems and it should be a good game between two teams who have been scoring goals recently.''

He added: "We take this competition seriously because we know that it is probably our best chance of getting to Wembley which is every player's goal so we will definitely be giving it our all.''

* FANS are reminded that there are reduced prices for the game.

Adult prices start at just £10, concessions £7 and Juniors £3.

The Three free kids offer is also running with three Under 14s allowed free entry with a paying adult.
