Still Time To Add To Squad

30 January 2015

Bentley still still keen to bring in new faces

JIM Bentley says there may be hope of adding a new face to his squad in the next few weeks.

The Shrimps have yet to make any signings in the transfer window and Bentley has always said that he would have to see members of the current squad go out on loan before anyone could come in.

Despite some interest no moves have yet materialised but Bentley believes there is still time.

He said: “We’ve had a little bit of interest in one or two of our players going out on loan.

“We’ve had it over the last couple of weeks but it just seems to be developing a little more.

“If one does go we’ve got one or two targets lined up.

“There’s been movement at other clubs so we’ve missed out on a couple but there’s still one or two players knocking around who could strengthen us if we can do something.

“There’s a few days left and then there’s obviously the loan window that opens afterwards.”

Former Fleetwood striker Jamie Allen is training with the club with Bentley keen to see him in action.

He said: “We want to have a look at him (Allen) in a game situation but with the weather last week the reserve team game at Wrexham was called off.

“We’ve not been able to organise one this week so it’s been a little bit difficult.

“We’re hoping to have a look at him and see what he’s all about.

“We know he’s a decent enough player but we’ll see what’s what.

“We need to find the right person in the right area to improve us.

“We do have our targets and we’ve spoken to people about so if we need to act we can do quickly.

“We’ll see what happens.”
