OLIVER SET TO RETURN

20 September 2017

Vadaine Oliver is set to return to Jim Bentley’s squad when they travel to Stevenage for the Sky Bet League 2 match on Saturday.

The twenty-five year old was controversially sent off in the Shrimps’ derby match versus Accrington Stanley on September 2nd and has missed out on facing his former club Notts County, the comeback at Yeovil Town and the victory versus Newport County at the weekend.

Reflecting on his time spent in the stands Oliver said; “It’s been very frustrating although on the other hand it may have been a blessing in disguise because I had a bit of an ankle problem I was struggling to shake off so I’ve had a bit of a break to let that recover without having that temptation to play on it when perhaps it wasn’t quite ready.

“We had the Tuesday game too, which made the ban go a little quicker. When you have games Saturday to Saturday a 3 game ban can seem like it lasts forever but to have a Tuesday game basically saves you a week.”
