Alex Kenyon has been ruled out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury suffered in the 0-0 draw versus Cheltenham Town.
The versatile player was replaced on 69 minutes after landing awkwardly attacking a long throw in the defensive third.
Physiotherapist Simon Farnworth added: "Alex had a scan last week, which revealed he's ruptured his anterior talofibular ligament, which is a ligament on the outside of the ankle.
"It's a common ankle injury and you get different degrees of it. Alex, unfortunately, has suffered the worst grade of this type so we're looking at 6 weeks rehab.
"At first we feared the worst that it could be more serious so thankfully there was no bone injury."
Kenyon commented: "I'm gutted to be missing the next few weeks especially with so many games in the time I’m out.
"I’ve set my own goal in terms of a game to be back fit for and in the past, I’ve usually come back quicker than expected so hopefully this one is the same."
