CARLOS Mendes Gomes has sixteen Morecambe appearances to his name in his first season in professional football and after three consecutive starts, the Senegal born forward is pleased with the run of games.

He said: "I was very happy to start the last three games, I'm very pleased to be part of the two wins against Port Vale and Oldham

"I've been part of winning teams this season when I've come off the bench, but Port Vale was the first time we've won a game that I've started and it was a very tough game especially first half.

"I think that the game could have gone either way but fortunately for us we got the goal that won it.

"Lincoln was very difficult. They're top of the league for a reason, they were very physical and we didn't get much protection from the referee so it was a very difficult game for us."
