CHELTENHAM TICKET PRICES SLASHED

13 March 2019

MORECAMBE Football Club is offering footy for a fiver in a bid to get a bumper Easter crowd.

The Shrimps have slashed prices for their Easter Monday game against Cheltenham in an effort to get as many fans through the door as possible and get close to the record Globe Arena league crowd of 4,165 for the clash with Carlisle on Boxing Day 2014.

As well as cut price football the Shrimps will be holding a family fun day with something for everyone, organised by the Shrimps Trust working with MFC Community Sports.

Admission will be just £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for juniors aged 11-18, for all tickets purchased in advance of matchday, in all areas of the ground for the game on April 22.(normal admission prices will apply on the day).

Shrimps’ Joint Chairman, Graham Howse, said the club was hoping as many local football fans as possible would take advantage of the offer.

He said: “This is a fantastic offer and a fantastic opportunity for fans in the area and beyond to bring their families and enjoy League 2 football.

“We have chosen the Bank Holiday fixture specially so we can make it a really inviting family day for everyone.

“We would love to get a gate of more than 4,000 on the day and if we could beat our record Globe Arena league crowd that would make it even more special.

“The call from the club is for fans to spread the message about the offer, bring their family and friends and get behind the club.’'

Shrimps’ boss Jim Bentley said: “This is a fantastic offer for any football fan and I hope it is really well supported.

“Myself and the players will be doing all we can to promote the offer in the local area because we want to see as many people there on the day as possible.''
